........................ In Gassho,

September Shotsuki Service: Monthly Shotsuki Services are scheduled on the first Sunday of the month. Sho (right), Tsuki (month) is the month for those who lost their beloved ones, family members, friends, and even pets. It is a service to listen to Amida's World (Immeasurable Virtues) while showing our respect and gratitude. If you want to add any names to the list, please contact the temple minister.

Higan Service: Hi (Buddha's) Gan (World) service is usually observed twice a year: Equinox in Spring and Fall. People in old days encouraged each other to listen to Buddha's World in these ideal seasons.

Higan (Buddha's World) mind appears in everyday life in form of pure desires such as wishes of no killing, no fight, no separation, no greed, and so on. However, these feelings are so called "white mind" which is slight and weak. That's why the majority of people soon forget or ignore them easily. Buddha says that these minds are the ones which lead people to Buddha's World.

First Dharma School Service: Ruth Vines has been working hard on Dharma School. She can't wait! Many programs and activities are planned for this year. Please join us and bring your friends!

In Gassho,

Bon-Odori Festival held at Slo Vet's Hall on August 7th ended successfully thanks to many supoorters, helpers, dancers, and donors this year. The weather was relatively chilly until noon time, and it got warner and hot in the afernoon. Many people join the dance circle. Demonstrations were done inside and outside. Food booths were located outside as usual. People enjoyed vendors' booths and Bonsai display. The Temple greatly appreciates your effort and support this year.
